From May 25 to June 1, thirteen mayors and local government leaders from 7 different countries came together in Siargao, Philippines for the Coastal 500 global gathering. They visited the municipalities of Santa Monica, Del Carmen and General Luna to see managed access and reserves, financial inclusion, social protection and climate adaptation programs in action. They spent afternoons trading ideas, best practices and challenges. Evenings, they ate, danced and nurtured budding friendships.

UNCBD COP 17
The seventeenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), where governments, Indigenous Peoples, scientists, civil society, and other stakeholders come together to advance global action to protect nature. COP17 will focus on implementing the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, accelerating progress toward biodiversity targets, and strengthening international cooperation on conservation, sustainable use, and equitable benefit-sharing. The conference provides a key opportunity to showcase innovative partnerships and solutions that support healthy, resilient coastal and marine ecosystems, as we work towards 30x30.
